A cold front will be arriving in the greater Boston area including Belmont by late afternoon, early evening which will bring damaging wind gusts and potentially heavy rains, according to the National Weather Service.
Gusts of greater than 40 mph from the South have the potential of bringing down branches and small trees, according to the report.
Huron Avenue on the Belmont line was closed to Cambridge-bound traffic after a tree fell across the roadway.
