Snow a Week Before Christmas? Sadly, Probably So

Strong coastal storm is looking likely to hit Belmont and region beginning Monday.

For those of you dreaming of a white Christmas, this forecast is what you've been waiting for.

For those of you dreading driving through days of snow, possible school closings, shoveling the sidewalk and steps and the madness of traveling in stormy cold conditions, welcome to a return of winter in New England.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance for accumulating snow early next week for Belmont and most of New England as a coastal storm develops between Monday and Wednesday.

An active weather pattern is expected to begin Sunday night and continue through the middle of next week. The NWS is currently predicting a 50 percent chance of rain and snow Monday night and Tuesday with significant amounts if temperatures remain cold enough.
