This Weekend in Belmont: Dance Parties and Photo Show

Events happening on Saturday and Sunday in Belmont.

• On Saturday, Feb. 2, Parents of Music Students and Belmont Savings Bank are holding a gem of a night filled with dancing and music at the Sounds of the 80's dance party held in the High School cafeteria. This fundraiser includes admision prices of $15 per adult; $10 per student; and a cap of $40 per families, Tickets will be sold at the high school doors.

• You didn't need to grow up and have lived "out west" to appreciate how much dang fun square dancing can be. Now you can as Square Dance for Everyone will be holding its monthly "four-hands" eventaon Saturday, Feb. 2, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Payson Park Church, 365 Belmont St., Saturday, Feb. 2. 

Explore the many and varied styles of traditional square dance along with a few classics from the early days of modern square dancing. No classes, no costumes and no commitment required. Newcomers are welcome, singles or couples. Called by Tony Parkes, music by Amy Cann and friends. All for a measly $10.

• On Sunday, Feb. 3, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Belmont Gallery of Art presents the New/Old Group, a photography exhibit featuring the works of artists Elaine Fisher, Eric Myrvaagnes and A. David Wunsch. The show is free and open to the public.
