Ugh! Snow for PM Rush Hour; Ice During Tomorrow's Commute

Only an inch or two of snow but during peak driving hours, then freezing conditions.

Get the salt ready as sidewalks and steps will turn into an ice skating rink tonight.

Snow will greet afternoon commuters and those same drivers Tuesday morning will battle with icy roads as a blast of bad weather moves through Belmont today, Jan. 28.

The National Weather Service released a winter weather advisory for snow and ice beginning at 1 p.m. today until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29.

While the amount of snow will be light, between an inch or two between 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., it will occur during the afternoon commute reducing driving conditions.

After the snow comes sleet and freezing drizzle from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. which will make driving and walking difficult on untreated roads and sidewalks.

After a night with temperatures below freezing, your morning rush hour or walk to school could be a slippery one so caution is being advised by the NWS.
