Watertown Savings Benefit Pair of Belmont Groups

St. Luke's St. Vincent de Paul and Friends of Belmont SPORTS to be honored in March.

Two Belmont organization will receive approximately $6,200 from Watertown Savings Bank, joining 34 other local community groups chosen by bank customers to share $75,000 in the bank's annual program to assist those who add to the quality of life in the local communities. 

Belmont's Saint Luke’s St. Vincent de Paul will receive $3,407 and the Friends of Belmont SPORT $2,831 at an awards ceremony in March.

“The bank’s annual customer choice awards is in its 17th year, and is a program of which we are particularly proud,” said Ronald Dean, Watertown Savings' chief executive officer.

“The list of winners reflects the important work being done by non-profits and volunteer organizations throughout the communities we serve. These funds will help support local schools, food pantries, and libraries just to name a few,” he said.

Funds awarded are based on the number of votes each organization received. With a maximum amount of $3,500, any organization with at least one percent of the vote received funds. Voting took place over a six-week period between November and January.

During the awards ceremony, each of the winning organizations will have the opportunity to speak about the work they do and how they will use the funds.
