Lexington Community Education presents: Adolescent Psychology: The Parent Version - An Evening with Parenting Expert Joani Geltman, MSW
Are you the parent of an adolescent struggling to figure out the
right balance of autonomy versus freedom? Does your teen tell you that s/he is
“the ONLY one” who doesn’t have (fill in the blank)? Welcome to the
rollercoaster years of adolescence! Join popular parenting expert Joani Geltman
in an entertaining and informative presentation, where you will learn how to
"teen proof" your home and relationship, set appropriate limits,
identify risk factors for depression and anxiety, differentiate between high expectations
and unrealistic ones, and understand the latest in technological and social
media traps aimed at teens.
Joani Geltman, an expert in the field of Child Development and
parenting has been working with parents, children, universities, schools, and
private and public companies for over 30 years. She is on the Faculty of both
Lesley University and Curry College. Additionally she provides consultation and
training to public school teachers helping them to develop successful
strategies for motivating students and managing behavior, by providing them
with a developmental framework.
