Little River Nature Walk: The Future

Come join us as we look into differing visions of the future in and around this beautiful urban wild. View and learn about developments in progress and proposed at the old "Faces" site (now "Vox on Two"), the Belmont Uplands, and along Acorn Park Drive, CambridgePark Drive, and Route 2.  Learn about alternative visions for the former Belmont skating rink site.  We will travel along the river, meadow, and forest habitats which are home to wilflife such as red fox, coyote, river otter, mink, cottontail rabbit, voles, snapper turtles, and over 40 residential birds such as hawks, wild turkey, blue heron, swans, cat birds, hummingbirds, and goldfinches.

When: 3-5 pm Sunday November 10, 2013
Where: (GPS) 15 Acorn Park Drive (parking lot)
Who: Anne-Marie Lambert, Belmont Citizens Forum
What: While we witness what Nature is doing on its own, we will discuss the role of citizens in the permitting process for developments which affect the nearby wetlands and traffic.  Come learn how society makes land use decisions, what has worked, and what hasn't. Come make a difference.

Walk will take place rain or shine. Dress accordingly.
