New Tradition This Year for Belmont High School’s All-Night Party

For over three decades, the Belmont High School Junior Class parents have organized and hosted the “All Night Party” on graduation night.  For Belmont’s graduating seniors, it is a chance to celebrate and have one last night together in their high school.   And for families and the community, a safe night of fun for our graduating senior class brings peace of mind.

This year’s party, which gets started June 1 at 9pm, will feature 8 hours of games, entertainment, music, refreshments and fun.

It takes more than 200 parents to fundraise, decorate and chaperone the event. This year, thanks to the generosity of sponsors East Cambridge Savings Bank, Seta’s Café, Cubby Oil, Revolve, and Coldwell Banker Belmont, the executive committee has launched a new website on the Weebly platform to help make the process easier. The single site allows parents both to sign up for volunteer shifts and donate funds. More than 70 parents have signed up for a variety of roles, but more are needed. http://belmontallnight.weebly.com/

Tom Cosgrove, head of this year’s executive committee, said: “The party is a great pay-it-forward tradition in Belmont and a chance for the junior class to support and say good luck to our graduating senior class. The funds we raise this year will help support next year’s senior class all-night party, so the 2015 graduates can enjoy the same great experience. And so on!”

As in past years, the party’s theme will remain a secret until the graduates walk through the doors at 9pm.  Past party themes have included “Toy Story,” Woodstock,” “Harry Potter,”  “Wizard of Oz” and “Grease.”
