Beech Street Center's Craft Fair Brings in the Crowds

Small businesses sell their wares at the Beech.

A steady stream of participants paid their $1 and made their way through tables of crafts and art at the 12th annual Belmont Council on Aging's Holiday Craft Fair that took place at the Beech Street Center on Saturday, Nov. 30, part of Small Business Saturday in Belmont.

More than 40 vendors offering holiday ornaments and cards, toys, jewelry, sweaters and scarves, dolls, quilts, baked goods as well as the members of the Center's
quilting and knitting group with their own table. There were soaps and lotions made of goat's milk, cat-inspired greeting cards, handmade children clothes and the 17th-century art of curling paper into objects called quilling.

"We've been having a great day which means its a great day for the Center," said COA Director Nova Niv-Vogel.

The fair is sponsored each year by the Friends of the Belmont Council on Aging; all proceeds support Senior Center programs.
