The Massachusetts Thanksgiving Week Forecast: Stormy Wednesday

Tuesday rain turns to snow showers with latest forecast. Wednesday predicted to be a rainy one, making for a tough travel day.

For many, it's a short work week, but a busy one full of shopping, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.

It's also a heavy travel week, so here is quick look at the weather forecast to help everyone through the official start of the holiday season.

WEDNESDAY: The busiest travel day of the year is going to be hampered by a windy, steady rain, possibly heavy at times in the morning. Winds will come in from the South at 20 to 30 mph but will diminish late in the day. One to two inches of rain expected. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph early. Tonight, windy with rain showers early then partly cloudy overnight as temperatures dive below freezing to 28 degrees. Chance of rain 50 percent.

THURSDAY: It will be a nice, but brisk day for the annual Thanksgiving Day football games as Thursday is expected to be sunny with highs in the low 30s. Winds will remain blustery, gusting up towards 40 mph.

FRIDAY: A sunny day is on tap for Black Friday shopping with temperatures expected to be in the mid-30s.
