Obituary: Former Belmont Selectman Alan Rayen

Also served as Chairman of the board as well as being appointed to the Warrant Committee and elected to the School Committee.

Alan Rayen, who served one term on the Belmont Board of Selectmen from 1983 to 1986, died on July 9.

A veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate in 1957 from Boston University, Rayen also served as chairman of the Selectman while also being a member of the town's Warrant and School committees.

Rayen is survived by his wife Mary L. (Kelleher) Rayen and children Laura M. DePamphlis of Naples Fla., Christopher G. Rayen of Malden, Lisa A. Carney of Randolph, Susan E. Piscopo of Peterborough, NH and Jennifer A. Stone of Baltimore Maryland and nine grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Leslie A. Rayen and Linda J. Manning. 

The funeral will be from the Stanton Funeral Home 786 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown on Friday, July 12 at 9:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Belmont Cemetery.
