Ding-dong; fire alarm
July 9 – Early in morning, half past 3 a.m., Engine 1 was sent to a multifamily located on Stables Way for a reported smokey odor in the building. Firefighters discovered that the cause of that smell was due to an over-heated door bell transformer which was producing a humming noise. The jakes disconnected the door bell and the transformer but wasn't able to isolate the breaker. The owner was told to notify the electrician.

Turn of the knob
July 9 – At five minutes 'til 11 p.m., the Fire Department received a call from a Common Street resident who locked themselves inside a second-floor bedroom.  Firefighters entered the house with a key from a secure box and opened the bedroom door by turning the knob. The resident said there is an "issue" with the knob on the inside of the door.

Watertown gas
July 11 – Minutes before 9 p.m., Engine 1 responded to the intersection of Belmont Street at Stults Road for an outside odor of natural gas. Companies arrived to find the smell coming from the Watertown side of the street. National Grid was notified and responded.
