Belmont Police, Fire Honored by Local Chamber of Commerce
Awards given in recognition of the importance public safety agencies play in the community highlighted last April with the Boston Marathon terror bombings.
The Belmont Police and Fire Departments were both among the recipients of the Watertown-Belmont Chamber of Commerce’s 2013 Chamber of Commerce Awards.
The awards were presented in recognition of the importance public safety agencies play in the community which was highlighted last April with the Boston Marathon terror bombings and the related incidents in neighboring Watertown that followed.
Belmont Asst. Fire Chief Angus Davison, and Belmont Police Chief Richard McLaughlin accepted the awards on behalf of their respective departments.

These awards are meant to recognize an outstanding cooperation with the community as an entire group or organization. In addition to Belmont Police and Fire, the Chamber also honored the Watertown Police and Watertown Fire Departments with 2013 Chamber of Commerce Awards.
The 2013 Award’s Dinner, held at the Belmont Country Club on Wednesday, Nov. 6, was the 40th hosted by the Watertown-Belmont Chamber of Commerce.
