Fire Log: False Alarms Galore

No, in not out

Aug. 26 – At 1:35 p.m., Engine 1 was sent to a location on Trapelo Road to help someone who was locked-IN their vehicle. The crew got them out.

Pull the switch

Aug. 26 – Just before 4 p.m., Engine 1 and Ladder 1 were dispatched to a Van Ness Road development disability facility to investigate the fire alarm system activation. Upon arrival, the Engine 1 crew was informed by staff that a patient intentionally set off the fire alarm system. Engine 1 discovered that the front hallway pull station was activated and two members of the staff were holding onto the patient. The staff was asked if they required assistance which they declined. The system was reset and the fire personnel were sent on their way.

Aug. 28 – The crew from Engine 2 were sent just after 8 a.m. to a home on Colonial Terrace to help a person who locked themselves out of their apartment. 

Top floors clamor

Aug. 30 – Around 7:30 p.m., Engine 1 and Ladder 1 were sent to a Beech Street two family to investigate the fire alarm going off. There they found the second floor property owner who said the smoke detectors were sounding on second and third floors. Engine 1 reports no smoke or fire on either floor and nothing happening in the basement and first floors. The property owner was informed to have her system checked by a qualified electrician.
