Lynn Woman Arrested in Armed Robbery of Trapelo Road Store

Belmont Police along with colleagues from Lynn and Peabody caught suspect who is allegedly behind robberies in Lynn, Peabody and Belmont.

Shara Clarke of Lynn will be charged today, Jan. 9, by Belmont Police with armed robbery while masked in connection with the hold up of LC’s Variety at 326 Trapelo Rd. on Dec. 11, 2013. 

It is alleged that Clarke produced a black, semi-automatic handgun and a demand for the money in the cash register.

Information obtained by Belmont Detective Timothy Connors was used to link Clarke to armed robberies in Peabody and her hometown.

On Dec. 20, Clarke was stopped by Peabody and Lynn detectives outside a Motel 6 in Danvers. When detectives searched her vehicle, they found clothing fitting the description provided by witnesses to the robberies including a mask and handgun.  

"The arrest and subsequent charges resulted from good police work at the patrol level and due diligence and the cooperation of detectives from Belmont, Lynn and Peabody," said Belmont Police Asst. Chief James MacIsaac.
