Manic Monday: Belmont Center Road Work Set To Cause Major Delays

Expect major traffic back ups for the morning and afternoon commutes.

Get ready for a "Manic Monday" commuting through Belmont Center.

The Belmont Public Works Department reported Friday that it will be working on Concord Avenue between Pleasant Street and Leonard Street today, closing the busy thoroughfare from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Expect traffic delays in the area of Pleasant Street from Concord Avenue to Route 2 and Belmont Center. The usual entry into the Town Hall complex via Concord Avenue will be closed as will parking adjacent to Police Headquarters.

The Belmont Police is advising drivers to avoid the area if they can and seek detours around the effected streets.
