Cab Burns on Trapelo Road in Belmont

Belmont Fire answers call with Engine 1 at the scene.

The Belmont Fire Department knocked out an apparent engine fire that destroyed a taxi cab on Trapelo Road heading towards the Cambridge town line on Friday, Dec. 28.

The incident, that occurred around 4 p.m. at the Pine Street intersection, sent Engine 1 and additional equipment to fight the blaze that occurred a block from Moozy's and near the traffic lights at the corner of Belmont Street and Trapelo. 

The cause of the fire has yet to be officially determined.
