A 43-year-old Belmont man was found to be in possession of heroin after a traffic stop on Everett Street in East Arlington Sunday night, according to police.

Daniel Arone, of Herman Street, Belmont, was arrested at about 9 p.m. Sunday and charged with possession of a Class A drug (subsequent offense) and receiving stolen property under $250.

An officer allegedly spotted drug paraphernalia in Arone’s vehicle after a traffic stop and then found two small bags of heroin in the vehicle. Arone said that the heroin wasn’t his. During booking, police allegedly found a cut straw, often used to snort drugs, in Arone’s sock.

The officer initially pulled over Arone as his license plate was coming back as stolen. Arone had two more license plates in his trunk that didn’t belong to him, police said.

Here is PROOF that Belmont has totally mixed up priorities. Since Town government cannot effectively deal with drugs, and this is by no means the first Heroin incident in Town, Town Pols obcess about utterly stupid trivialities, like By-Laws about yard sales, clearing snow off sidewalks, sustainability, and recycling. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Belmont behaves like an Ostrich when it comes to REAL problems, but fixates on the utterly trivial.
