Police: Belmont Man Found with Heroin After Traffic Stop in Arlington

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A 43-year-old Belmont man was found to be in possession of heroin after a traffic stop on Everett Street in East Arlington Sunday night, according to police.

Daniel Arone, of Herman Street, Belmont, was arrested at about 9 p.m. Sunday and charged with possession of a Class A drug (subsequent offense) and receiving stolen property under $250.

An officer allegedly spotted drug paraphernalia in Arone’s vehicle after a traffic stop and then found two small bags of heroin in the vehicle. Arone said that the heroin wasn’t his. During booking, police allegedly found a cut straw, often used to snort drugs, in Arone’s sock.
