SUV Ends Up On Roof in Early Morning Incident

Lexington resident taken to Mt. Auburn Hospital at 8 a.m. single-vehicle accident.

A Lexington woman was taken to Mt. Auburn Hospital after she was freed by the Belmont Fire Department from her vehicle which ended up on its roof after a single-vehicle accident today, Wednesday, July 3. 

According to Belmont Police, the accident occurred at the corner of Grove Street and Crescent Road across from Belmont Cemetery at approximately 8 a.m. 

A Belmont homeowner told police that he heard a large crash around that time and went outside to see a Lexus SUV on its roof and his Cadillac SUV moved from where it was originally located.

The Lexington driver was trapped in the upended vehicle and needed Belmont Fire Department personnel to extricate her. 

Since no one saw the accident, the incident remains under investigation awaiting police questioning the victim.
