Belmont Driver Strikes Three Brandeis Students in Crosswalk

The crash occurred Sunday evening.

Three Brandeis University students were crossing in a South Street crosswalk on campus Sunday evening when they were struck by a Lexus, according to a Waltham Police release.

The undergraduate students, an 18-year-old male, 18-year-old female and 22-year-old female, were transported to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston with serious injuries, police said. They were all stable Sunday night, according to police.

A 42-year-old Belmont man was driving the Lexus. He did not appear to be impaired at the scene, but the investigation is ongoing and any charges will be determined after it’s completed, police said.

The Lexus was traveling northbound when it hit the students at about 6:24 p.m.
