Belmont Declares Snow Emergency, Effective 6 PM to 9 AM Friday

No on-street parking or parking in municipal lots for the 15 hours the emergency is in effect.

The town of Belmont has declared a snow emergency beginning at 6 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 2 and lasting until 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, according to Michael Santoro, assistant director of the Belmont Department of Public Works.

The declaration puts into effect a parking ban on all roadways and Municipal parking lots in Belmont.

All vehicles parked in violation of the ban will be towed at the owner’s expense.

The best information concerning snow emergencies is a flier issued by the Belmont Department of Public Works that provides information on coping with an emergency, sidewalk clearing (there is a new snow cleaning bylaw) and where and where you can't put all that snow.

Residents can utilize the Public Works Snow Emergency Hotline during the storm at 617-993-2698 for snow and flooding issues.
