Forget the Temperature, Come To Community Pool Meetings This Week

Here's your chance to help design the proposed new Underwood Pool.

The design process for a proposed new Underwood Pool is now underway, according to the Underwood Pool Building Committee, and there are three ways for residents to share your ideas on the future pool proposed to replace the current pool and bathhouse.

• Come to the Underwood Pool Public Meeting on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m., at the Chenery Middle School. The designers will show images of some of their previous projects, design elements that we may want to consider, and some of the unique features of our site. Residents are invited to ask questions and share their ideas.

• Both adults and children are invited to join the pool designers for an Informal Pool Tour and Discussion on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., beginning at the Assembly Room at the Belmont Public Library. Take a tour of the Underwood Pool like you’ve never seen it before including a view of the mechanics in the pump house. Children will be invited to draw pictures or write down ideas for the pool designers.

• If you are unable to attend the meeting or tour, join the more than 400 Belmont residents who have share their pool ideas through an Online Community Input Survey which can be found on the Building Committee's Facebook Page through Nov. 26.

For more information about the pool project, contact Anne Paulsen, chair of the Underwood Pool Building Committee, at 617-484-1965 or via email.
