Gov. Patrick Endorses Rogers in State Rep Race

Governor joins former district representative Brownsberger backing Cambridge attorney.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick announced today, Thursday, Nov. 1, his endorsement of Dave Rogers to become the State Representative in the 24th Middlesex district.

The "ABC" district is comprised of Belmont and precincts in Arlington and Cambridge. Rogers is the Democrat candidate in the race to replace former State Rep. Will Brownsberger – who endorsed Rogers in October – who left the seat in January to become state senator. Rogers is running against Republican Tomi Olson and Independent Jim Gammill.

"I am deeply honored to have our Governor’s endorsement," said Rogers in a press release issued after the announcement.

"Patrick is a reformer, successfully championing improvements to transparency and openness in government as well as sound fiscal management practices. My priorities and Patrick’s are well matched. Together, we are committed to finding a long-term solution to our public transportation system, and ensuring our schools receive the necessary resources and funding to allow our students to succeed. I look forward to a strong working relationship with Patrick, and I am proud to receive his support.”
