Lone Tree Hill Dedication Saturday at 10 a.m.

Belmont's latest addition to conservation land and open space.

Call it an 'official' conclusion, a dedication or simply a party.

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, in a newly-constructed parking lot at 251 Mill St. across from the town's , officials from Belmont and along with residents and volunteers will officially open nearly 100 acres of meadows, trails, hardwood forests, protected wetlands and passive recreation space that will be known as .

Once part of the McLean Hospital, the land allows people to hike, walk and ride bikes on miles of public access trails or just come to view the vistas among wild flowers and native plants.

Lone Tree Hill will also be connected to the 1,000 acres of the Western Greenway allowing bikers and hikers to spend hours without coming across industrial areas.

So come by tomorrow – take alternative transportation as the parking lot is quite small – and take a walk.
