Never Mind! Lawn Decides No To Senate Run; Final Four Set

Brighton resident and Suffolk Asst. DA withdraws despite gathering enough signatures.

Although she collected enough signatures and was eligible to appear on a Dec. 13 primary ballot, Brighton resident has withdrawn as a contender in the special election to fill a Senate vacancy in the Second Suffolk and Middlesex District, according to the State House News Service today, Tuesday, Nov. 15. 

Lawn's exit solidifies the race as an all-Democratic four-way contest among Boston attorney and former candidate for Boston City Council , former state firefighter union head and Watertown resident , and. 

Lawn, an assistant district attorney in Suffolk County is the sister of Watertown's other state rep., John Lawn.

Clyde Younger, former president of the Watertown City Council also opted against running, joining Rep. Martha Walz (D-Boston) and Governor's Councilor Marilyn Devaney as candidate who considered a bid but ultimately opted to sit out the race, according to the News Service.
