Nomination Papers Now Available For Belmont Town-Wide Offices, Town Meeting Representatives

Candidates must have papers into Town Clerk's Office by Feb. 11 at 5 p.m.

Nomination papers are available now for residents seeking town-wide elected office and to become Town Meeting representatives, according to Town Clerk Ellen Cushman.

All nomination papers must be signed by registered Belmont voters and returned to the Town Clerk's office by 5 p.m. on Feb. 11, 2014

Belmont's annual Town Election will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, 

Cushman recommends that more signatures are collected and submitted in the event that some signatures are invalid.

This year, open positions include:

Town Moderator

Town Treasurer

One for Board of Selectmen

Three for School Committee (two scheduled openings and the seat filled by the appointment of Lisa Fiore earlier this year.)

One for Board of Assessors

One for Board of Cemetery Commission

One for Board of Health 

One for Belmont Housing Authority

Two for Board of Library Trustees

There will be 12 full-three year open positions in each of the town's eight precincts.
