Wonder how much the Town of Homes thinks your house is worth for the coming tax year?
Here's your opportunity to find out ... but you better hurry; property owners will only have until Friday to find out.
The Board of Assessors' Office will have available for public inspection the fiscal year 2013 assessed values for each property in Belmont. The office is located on the first floor of the Homer Municipal Building, 19 Moore St., in the Town Hall complex.
The values are being disclosed because Belmont submit all the property values to the State Department of Revenue for certification, a process that occurs every three years.
The values are pending preliminary certification from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. But you can be fairly certain that the figures will not change much, if at all, when the list is given the state's seal of approval.
The disclosure of the values will allow owners to consider if the town's calculations is the fair market value for the property. If an owners wishes to challenge the valuation, they can file an application for an abatement of their real property taxes.
But property owners will have only have until Dec. 7 to see their figure, which is the end of the official disclosure period that runs for five working days.
The assessors' office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
