Sept. 25 is Final Day to Register for Special Primary for 5th Congressional District

Belmont Town Clerk Ellen Cushman wants to remind Belmont residents that they have until Wednesday, Sept. 25,  at 8 p.m. to register to vote and qualify for the Special State Primary for the 5th Congressional District scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 15.  

Voters enrolled in the Democratic or Republican Party or those listed as Unenrolled (Independent) are the only voters who are eligible to vote in the Primary. 

Residents who are registered with one of the numerous other parties in the state, including the Green and Pirate parties, will not be afforded the opportunity to select a Republican or Democrat ballot on Oct. 15. Those residents will need to switch their  alliance to Unenrolled by Sept. 25 to become eligible.

Voter registration forms and Absentee Ballot Application forms may be obtained online at the Town Clerk’s web page and go to the Town Clerk section or come down in person at the office of the Town Clerk in Belmont Town Hall, 455 Concord Ave.

In-office absentee voting will begin at the Town Clerk’s office Monday, Sept. 16 at 8 a.m., continuing until Friday, Oct. 11 at noon to prepare for the Election.
