Cambridge's Rogers Wins State Rep Race

The polls closed at 8 p.m. Stay tuned to Belmont Patch for the results of the contested Democratic primary for state representative in the 24th Middlesex District.

UPDATE: Dave Rogers wins state rep race in the 24th Middlesex District race by winning Arlington and Cambridge big over Margaret Hegarty, 2,291 to 2,089 with Bobby Reardon taking 914 votes.

UPDATE: Margaret Hegarty wins Belmont's first reported precinct, #2, big: 164 to Bobby Reardon, 69 and Dave Rogers 68.

Belmont Patch will have the results of the contested Democratic primary for state representative in the 24th Middlesex District on this page as soon as they become available.

The district includes Belmont, Arlington Precincts 2, 4, 8, 10 and 12 (about a quarter of the town) and a portion of Cambridge.

There were three Democratic candidates running for the House seat left vacant by now state Sen. Will Brownsberger: and , both of Belmont, and , of Cambridge.

Today's victor will face Republican Tomi Olson and Independent Jim Gammill on the Nov. 6 ballot.
