What To Know If Belmont Declares a Snow Emergency

Some basic information what to know if an emergency is declared in Belmont.

With the pending Nor'easter targeting Belmont – and the rest of eastern Massachusetts – residents should be prepared for a possible declaration of a snow emergency by town officials.

The most immediate impact of a snow emergency would be a parking ban for all vehicles on public roadways and in the three town-owned municipal lots and school parking areas.

If an emergency is declared, all vehicles parked in violation of the ban will be towed.

The best information concerning snow emergencies is a flier issued by the Belmont Department of Public Works that provides information on coping with an emergency, sidewalk clearing (there is a new snow cleaning bylaw) and where and where you can't put all that snow.

Residents can utilize the Public Works Snow Emergency Hotline during the storm at 617-993-2698 for snow and flooding issues.
