Get Buzz-y: Three Days Remain to Register for Foundation's Annual Spelling Bell

Registration for students in kindergarten to 6th grade ends Wednesday, Oct. 23.

There is only three days left to register for the Foundation for Belmont Education's 13th Annual Youth Spelling Bee being held on Saturday, Nov. 2. at the Belmont High School Auditorium beginning at 3 p.m.

With team names like “The ZomBees,” “The Spellmont Marauders,” and “The BeeDazzlers,” more than 500 students from Kindergarten to 6th graders will take part in one of the largest spelling bees in eastern Massachusetts.

With non-competitive swarms for those in K-to-grade 4 and competitive swarms for grades 5 and 6, there is something appropriate for every-bee.

The 2012 Spelling Bee raised more than $20,000 for programs funded through grants from the Foundation, the non-profit, volunteer-run organization that engages the community in supporting excellence and enrichment in the Belmont's public schools.

Start forming swarms, creating beatific names, and make a beeline to the FBE site: www.fbe-belmont.org/spelling-bee/ for more information and to register.
