With the drive of Celtic fiddling, spontaneity of jazz, soul of the blues and intricacies of chamber music, the Jeremy Kittel Band consistently captivates audiences.
And on Friday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m., Jeremy Kittel and his band mates will join Belmont student musicians in a special concert at Belmont High School's auditorium.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The Jeremy Kittel Band – a string quartet of violin, mandolin, cello and guitar players – will have completed two intensive days of in-school rehearsals and one after-school workshop with Belmont High and the Chenery Middle School orchestras.
Both orchestras will perform several traditional jazz and fiddle tunes with the band during the first half of Friday's program. The second half of the evening will feature the band in concert.
Kittel has appeared on NPR's, A Prairie Home Companion, been a guest with multiple symphony orchestras and has performed at venues as diverse as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Bonnaroo and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.
This guest artist program has been generously funded by the Foundation for Belmont Education and Parents of Music Students. Please join them for a wonderful evening of musical collaboration.
