Tucker Graduates From George Washington, Commissioned as 2nd Lt.

About 6,000 students graduate on the Washington Mall in the nation's capital.

Franklin Myles Tucker recently graduated from The George Washington University in Washington DC and also commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. 

A member of Belmont High School's Class of 2009, Tucker graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington's Elliot School of International Affairs on May 17.

The University's graduation ceremony took place on the Mall in Washington DC facing the Lincoln Memorial on May 19. Approximately 6,000 undergraduates and graduates heard actress Kerry Washington give the commencement speech.

On May 20, Tucker was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the United States Air Force at the commissioning ceremony of Detachment 130 USAF ROTC held at Howard University in Washington. USAF Gen. Lester Lyles was the guest speaker.
