Youth Hockey Rings In New Year with Championships

Two teams bring home tournament wins in Arlington.

A pair of teams representing the Belmont Youth Hockey Association spent the holiday season grabbing gifts across the town line in Arlington winning their respected championships on New Year's Day at the 34th Annual Arlington Christmas Tournament.

Ten Belmont Youth Hockey teams participated in the tourament including Bantam A team, Pee Wee A, B1 and B2 teams, Squirt A, B1 and B2 teams, Mite A-1 team and Girls U10 and U12 teams.

Four of those BYHA teams advanced to the finals of their respective brackets:

Girls' U10 (girls 10 years and younger) beat Winchester, 4-2, to win their championship game.

• Pee Wee (ages 11–12) B1 defeated Waltham, 3-1, to win their championship (Pee Wee 2 division).
