'Investment Made Easy' Workshop at the Belmont Public Library

If you are inspired to research your investments, or just improve your financial literacy, join us for a training session using the Morningstar Investment Research Center.

For many of us, the summer can bring financial changes. You may be saving for a long-awaited vacation, or to send a child off to college. If you are inspired to research your investments, or just improve your financial literacy, join us for a training session at the Belmont Public Library at noon on Thursday, July 14, on using the Morningstar Investment Research Center. This online resource is one of the most trusted sources of independent investment analysis for stocks, mutual funds, and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

The presentation is free, and so is using Morningstar Investment Research Center when you are in the library. Belmont residents can also access the Research Center from home through the library web site, www.belmont.lib.ma.us. Just click the “databases” link, go to the “business” category, and enter your library card number. You’ll find other business resources there, including LexisNexis Library Express and The Wall Street Journal, offering company profiles, financials, news, and more.

If you have any questions about using these databases, please call the reference desk at 617-993-2870. And if you would like to attend the Morningstar online training session on July 14, you are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch. Camille O’Connor of Morningstar will cover such topics as how to search for the best stock or fund for your portfolio; where to find stock and fund analysis; how to calculate the savings you need to retire; and other tips for using the Morningstar Research Investment Center. Just remember it’s all free – with your library card.
