Boys' Swimming: Strong Performances At Season's Start

Belmont's top pair, Andrew Kelley and Tom Zembowicz, took first in three events and powered a pair of relay squads.

The Belmont Boys' Swimming season got underway at Andover High School on Friday, Dec. 13, with several Marauder swimmer and divers putting out high marks early in the year.

Despite losing the first meet, 95 to 86, against perennial powerhouse Andover, strong performances were set by the Marauders led by Belmont's top pair, Andrew Kelley and Tom Zembowicz

Kelley took home two firsts in the 100 freestyle (51.09) and 100 backstroke (55.66) and placed second leading off the 100 medley (1:50.63) and 400 free relays (3:51.31). 

Zembowicz swam home first in the 100 butterfly (56.28) and placed second in the 200 Individual Medley (2:18.08). He joined Kelley in the two relays, where they were swam with Jake Carr and Ryan Touzjian in the 400 free and Owen Luo and Sam Lessin in the IM. 

Placing 1-3 in diving were Kevin Chen in first with 155.5 points with freshman Trevor Corning scoring 102.55 points.
