RESULTS: Belmont’s Emily Cook Competes in Women’s Aerials at Olympics

Belmont’s Emily Cook advanced past qualifications in women’s aerials Friday at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, with a first jump of 80.01, putting her fifth.

Cook then made it past the first of three rounds of finals (the field narrows after each round) with a jump of 82.21, placing her sixth out of the eight who went on.

In the second round of finals, with only four women moving onto the third and final round, Cook fell on her back after landing and failed to advance, finishing eighth with a jump of 64.50.
