Recycling. Recycling? Q & A with Reps

Join us for a Q & A with Mary Beth Calnan, Belmont Recycling Coordinator on current recycling program success and future initiatives to better overall waste disposal. Members of Wellington’s PTO will also share their experience with recycling in their school and GREEN TEAM initiatives.

Wed., March 5 at 7-9 p.m. at Belmont Public Library, Assembly Room

Can’t be there? Please send your question and we’ll be sure to include it in our published re-cap. Here are a few of the questions that have already come up from community members:
  • What are the options when this disposal contract expires?
  • Can recycling compliance rates be increased and how?
  • What would it take to increase composting and how could we benefit?
  • Can Belmont be a Zero Waste Community?
  • Why do I have to break-down my cardboard?
  • Why can't I recycle plastic bags at the curb?
  • Why is there not more regulation of compliance, like with traffic regulations?

Q: do you suppose you might be able express any of your views without built-in bile and name calling? Give it a try. The world is not as ugly as you see it.

How Obama! How Progessive! - - - You cry out for 'civility' and at the same time have your pet rotwielers, Pelosi, Reid, Biden, and Axelrod go out and slander and defame the opposition. - - - Your side has ABSOLUTELY no qualms about telling GIANT lies, to further your agenda. Remember: "You can keep your doctor. Period" or "You can keep your insurance plan. Period" or "If we see the use or movement of chemical weapons, there will be consequences" or the pathetic response in the Ukraine? Someone just said "You CANNOT fight a bear with an accordian". - - - It is quite plain that Sustainable Belmont is flogging a pointless agenda... as are their intellectual cousins who oippose fracking and Keystone. - - - The ONLY thing that keeps people from freezing to death or starving are the energy industries. - - - The 'pixie dust' of 'alternative energy', so beloved of the greenies, is naieve conceit. It is only profitable with the tax breaks... Other Peoples' Money. - - - In short, this is a REAL world, with REAL problems. Fantasy 'solutions' are politically motivated PURPOSEFUL misdirection.
