One Week Left To Sign Up for Belmont Serves

Annual day of service for the Belmont community is next Monday, Oct. 14.

The 5th annual Belmont Serves day of community service will be held in one week, on Monday morning, Oct. 14, the Columbus Day holiday.

Projects include the annual food drive for the Belmont Food Pantry (it is the biggest giving day of the Pantry's year), conservation projects across town including at Rock Meadow and Lone Tree Hill, painting, plantings, cleaning and lots of other neat stuff to help the community.

And this year, volunteers for Belmont Serves can help out on the final day of the Joey's Park construction project.

Families can even split their morning between the food drive and Joey's Park; known as the "Pantry/Park Family Combo."

On-line registration and additional information are available at the Belmont Serves web-site: www.belmontserves.org

Belmont Serves also makes it easy to donate to the Belmont Food Pantry. Before the event, teams of volunteers will be distributing grocery bags door-to-door with instructions. Just fill up your bag with non-perishable items – canned goods, paper items, toiletries – and leave the bag on the doorstep Monday morning, Oct. 14, before 8:30 a.m.

Last year, approximately 350 volunteers of all ages spent the morning making a real difference in Belmont, while also having lots of fun. Join the volunteers and invite friends to come along.
