Make-Up For the Holidays, Rubi Sings for Kids, Pool Visit on Friday
Events happening Christmas week in Belmont.
Christmas time is for family and traveling so this week is a bit light on scheduled events.
• Los Angeles-based make-up professional Dina Gregg will be giving a free workshop on "Looking Good for the Holidays' on Monday, Dec. 23, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Beech Street Center. It will demonstrate how to use makeup to highlight your natural beauty – which colors look best for different complexions, which colors complement each other and how to bring out the best in mature faces. Bring your make-up bag. Gregg, daughter of Center participants Vera and John Gregg, works in the fashion industry, TV, films, advertising and private high-profile clients. She grew up in Belmont and graduated from Belmont High School. She is donating her talents for this program.
• Music & Movement with Rubi, a movement and music program, is recommended for three to five years old but two year olds are welcome. There will be two sessions in the Belmont Public Library's Assembly Room, on Monday, Dec. 23 at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
• There's still space left to learn about Chinese culture on Mondays through January from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Beech Street Center. The class is taught by two students from Belmont High School. Topics include traditional games, holidays, Chinese characters and calligraphy, making Chinese lanterns and paper cut and other art forms. The final class will be making dumplings for the Chinese New Year.
