Thanksgiving Day Football, Stringarama, Obtaining an Abatement

Events occurring in the coming week in Belmont.

Come over to Watertown High School's Victory Field on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 28 as the Belmont High School Football Marauders take on rivals Watertown High School Red Raiders in the annual Thanksgiving Game. Kick-off is at 10 a.m.

Elementary, middle and high school orchestras under the direction of Margot Reavey will perform in Stringarama, the annual tradition featuring string instruments. A broad array of selections highlighting the students' musical talent and development will be on display on Monday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. at Belmont High School auditorium.

The Benton Library, Belmont's independent library at the corner of Old Middlesex and Oakley, will be open on Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Join representatives from the Belmont Assessors Office who will give a free presentation on tax relief available for citizens who qualify on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the Beech Street Center, 266 Beech St. A variety of exemptions are available to reduce property tax obligations for certain qualifying taxpayers such as elderly persons, blind persons, disabled veterans and others
