Armenian Church's Bazaar, Final Performance of 'Broadway Night' and More

Weekend events in Belmont.

• The First Armenian Church in Belmont is serving up a slew of great food and events at its annual Fall Harvest Bazaar being held on Saturday, Oct. 26, from noon to 8 p.m. at the church located at 380 Concord Ave. There will be a "marketplace" for new and gently used household items, children's books and toys as well as children's activities. 

On the food side of the bazaar you'll find lamb and beef shish kebab, chicken kebab or ground beef  “losh” kebab grilled fresh all day. Dinners start at $15 for adults that includes two skewers with ample rice pilaf and salad, bread and coffee (Children’s meals with one skewer and sides). will be available.  In addition, there will be an array of pastries: paklava, kadayif, bourma and specialty cookies sold by the piece. Enjoy them with a demitasse of Armenian coffee in the church's Fellowship Hall.

• Do not miss Belmont High School Performing Arts Company's annual "Broadway Night" tonight, Saturday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in the school's Little Theater. 

• The newest pre-school in town, the Wonder School, is holding a Fall Celebration at its new home at 43 White St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. There will be activities for the kids such as pumpkin painting, games, music, face painting, crafts and Trick-or-Treating and much more. Parents will be able to see the classrooms, meet the teachers and discover what the school's  Wonder Time is all about.

• The Belmont Auxiliary Police and the US Drug Enforcement Agency will be hosting its annual Prescription Drug Take-Back Initiative at the DPW yard, 37 C St., from 10 a.m. to  2 p.m. Saturday, Oct 25. Bring your old or unused prescription drugs – sorry, no liquids – may be dropped off for free with no questions asked. You won’t even have to get out of your car.


• The Belmont High School Boys' Soccer team will be playing a Saturday afternoon matinee – the ACT testing is taking place this morning so its a later start time – as the squad takes on arch-rival Winchester High in the season finale at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26.
