Artists' Reception With Paris In Mind, Keyboard Performances Galore!

Things to do this weekend in Belmont.

• The Belmont Gallery of Art is hosting a special reception for the Belmont High School artists who are part of the AP Art Students Paris Show Fundraiser on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Those attending the reception are encouraged to purchase the paintings made by the students especially for the Paris Trip exhibit. Proceeds from student works sold will go toward funding the students 2015 trip to the City of Lights.

• The joyful beauty of Bach, the ragtime of Joplin and the unique creative blend of jazz, blues and modern classical music of Herbie Hancock will be just a few of the composers performed on the keyboard during First Church in Belmont's 19th annual Piano Celebration concert on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. It will be a delightfully eclectic program, including genres such as classical, jazz, ethnic, popular, swing and some surprises! The concert will be followed by a reception with refreshments. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door. Proceeds will be used to maintain and repair the First Church's pianos and its organ.

Boys' Hockey at the Viglirolo Rink at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 vs. Burlington High School.
