'Messiah' Open Sing at All Saints', Art at Habitat and Book Sale at the Benton

Events happening this weekend in Belmont.

• Mary Beekman leads the community in singing Handel’s "Messiah" (Parts 1 & 2, with some of Part 3) at Powers Music School’s Open Sings event of the year on Sunday, Dec. 22, 7:30 p.m., at All Saints’ Church, 17 Clark Street,. Experience the thrill of singing your favorite work accompanied by a professional-level orchestra, and revel in arias sung by some of Boston's finest soloists. Admission $10 at the door. • The Mass Audubon Members Art Show, where members display their two-dimensional artwork, is open on Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22 at 10  to 4 p.m. at Habitat, 10 Juniper Rd.

• The Benton Library, Belmont's independent and volunteer-run library, is holding its monthly Saturday Book Sale on Saturday, Dec. 21 beginning at 2 p.m. Remember, gently used books make great gifts with the proceeds helping support the library. The library is located at 75 Oakley Road, Belmont, at the corner of Old Middlesex.
