St Nick at All Saints', Plymouth Christmas Fair, Chamber Chorus at Payson Park Church

Events occurring this weekend in Belmont.

• Before there was Santa Claus there was St, Nicholas. And today, Saturday, Dec. 7, All Saints’ Church, at the corner of Clark and Common streets, will host a St. Nicholas Exhibit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Admission fee is a warm hat, gloves or mittens that can be given to a child.

Come greet St. Nicholas who will be on hand all day for photos. In addition, there will be a special presentation of the All Saints’ Christmas Pageant featuring St. Nicholas and the children of All Saints’ at 10:30 a.m. See displays including photos, icons, St. Nicholas traditions in other countries and hands-on activities for children of all ages. Refreshments will be served throughout the day; hot lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a small fee in our special “St. Nicholas Café.”

Ample parking is available at the church and the Parish Hall is handicapped accessible. For more information contact the Parish Office at 617-484-2228.

The Plymouth Congregational Church Christmas Fair takes place on Saturday, Dec. 7 beginning at 10 a.m. There will be crafts from Plymouth crafters, an elegant White Elephant table, food gifts, floral arrangements by Designs by Artefact and wreaths by Boy Scout Troop 304. Music will be provided by the Belmont High School Madrigals and the musicians from the congregation. Lunch will be served beginning at 11 a.m. The fair will also mark the launch of "Community Helpings Cookbook; A Community Collaboration to Benefit Local Food Pantries." The church is located at 582 Pleasant St.

• The Arlington-Belmont Chamber Chorus, conducted by Barry Singer, will present its Holiday Concert on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. at the Payson Park Congregational Church, 365 Belmont St. The concert will feature “A Ceremony of Carols” by Benjamin Britten plus shorter holiday works by Poulenc, Praetorius, Larsen, Stucky and other composers. Donation: $15, Seniors/Students: $10, Children 12 and under: $5. For information, contact chorale@psarlington.org

• Join Oak Hill Studio, 367 Trapelo Rd. in celebrating the holiday season and another year of pottery at its Holiday Open House Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7 and 8.  There will be lots of new pottery, fresh out of the kiln, as well as some seasonal photographs. This year there will be a "seconds" table for some great deals.  On Saturday, Dec. 7 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m, there will be a holiday reception.

• Powers Music School adult students will present a challenging and inspiring solo and ensemble pieces for the community, family and friends on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 7:30 p.m., in the Betsy Washburn Cabot Room at Powers Music School, 380 Concord Ave. Admission is free.
