Unlike the author of this piece, I won't impressed with their output until they implement termRead More limits, reduce their salaries, and limit their work to 6 months of a year. These steps will greatly reduce the "damage" they can do to the education, transportation, and economic areas in our state!

Getting back to the topic at hand... Religious freedom clause of the 1st Amendment is extended toRead More all regardless of one's religious beliefs or lack thereof. It seem like we can use our freedom of speech not in snipping and sniping at one another, but to use the freedom of speech to promote good will and to do what is right. Protecting religious freedom of other people's religious practice is the right thing to do. To do the contrary is not only wrong, it's also un-American.

The Roman Catholic Church has been subdued for too long. People around the world worship in allRead More kinds of song and even dance. Liturgical dance exists in the Church but it is kept a secret. It's time to take the chains off people and let them sing and dance with their hearts and bodies! I don't believe that God and Jesus ever intended to subdue people and not allow people to express themselves in church. This priest took a leap of faith and did something very beautiful and wonderful. If we want people to return to our church , let's make it more real and human. I sang in a choir for most of my life and would always ask, "why do we need to just stand here like little toy soldiers"? "why do we need to be forced to sing only select music that is considered sacred and not move our bodies. Unfortunately the people running our church became the oppressors!!! Jesus was a human being with emotions, I'm sure that is not what is intended. I remember one time when we brought in a black gospel choir and everyone loved it. Unfortunately, it was a one time thing. Also when various popes in the past visited African countries, they were seen enjoying the very emotional expressive dancing and music. Why is it not OK if I live in Boston? Thanks to Pope Francis for starting making things more real for Catholics. There are still a lot of conservatives bishops, archbishops and cardinals as well as oppressed laity as well who don't like and want to see this change. Many Catholics fear for the life of this Pope for making so many waves!!! May God keep him safe and may he continue to flourish with his non-judgmental attitudes, I would like to sing more priests take a risk and sing out like this.
fran April 21, 2014 at 09:45 am
I think it was a absolute wonderful "gift" to the couple. There has always been singing inRead More the Catholic Church and this "gifted" priest only added to the couples' day.

Just as with other holidays, the real meaning of Patriot's Day has been blurred or forgotten. - - -Read More Washington's Birthday was never intended to promote car sales. - - - The Fourth of July is about FREEDOM, not not beer, BBQ, and or car races - - - Patriot's Day is not about some folks running from Hopkington to Boston, for no particular reason. - - - ALL these day are to honor and show respect for those who FOUGHT, and some who DIED, for the freedoms we now enjoy... and which decades of Progressive government are actively trying (and sadly succeeding) to DESTROY. - - BE a REAL Patriot... Stand up and speak out AGAINST government intrusions into your life and the lives of others, and FOR LIBERTY.
Brian Rogers April 20, 2014 at 07:29 am
The thing is, no one runs to Boston from "Hopkington" on Patriot's Day.

Ok........lots of happy people here. When my children were young we hid eggs in the yard for theirRead More hunt. One dog used to collect them before we went outside and put them on his bed, smelling the candy inside. Kids learned to trade dog treats to get their eggs back. People, remember -- There are FOUR subway lines that go into the Downtown Crossing / Back Bay area.Read More You don't HAVE to take the Green Line. So what you're saying william is that anyone who comes along and claims "PTSD",Read More "ABUSE", blah, blah blah should get a free pass? Why have laws then? The whole concept of making something a criminal act is that we want to discourage it from happening in the first place, by putting deterrents into effect. One such deterrent is PRISON, another is the Death Penalty. If this person was being abused, she had options BEFORE coming to this point - for whatever reason, she make a decision to kill someone, and a Jury of her peers determined her guilt. So off to jail she goes - hopefully FOREVER.
