Parents of a Belmont Marine serving in Afghanistan thanks students for package drive.
Written to the students of Belmont High School, Alice Melnikoff, the High School's Community Service Coordinator, and teachers in the After-School Programs: As an alumnus of the Belmont High School class of 1977 (yes, kids, I’m old!), I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the hard work and effort that went into the fundraiser and package shipment to the Marines/Sailors of the 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines which our son, Lance Cpl. Philip L. Saidnawey, proudly serves. Philip graduated from Belmont High School in June of 2009 and a few short weeks later shipped off to boot camp.
