For Belmont florist Christine Haverty, Valentine’s Day is definitely the “Black Friday” for love. More than any day of the year, Feb. 14 is the longest and busiest at Paradise Flowers. “We get a lot of orders for Mother’s Day as well but that occurs over an entire week rather than just one day,” said the owner of the shop on Concord Avenue. A visual and aromatic feast To handle the heavy requests, Christine will extend her hours on Tuesday and keep the shop open all day, from 7:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. She advises that anyone who is planning to purchase an unusual bouquet, insofar as colors or the arrangement, call at least a day in advance to make sure the particular time-tested gift of flora will be exactly right.
