Cushing Square Store Robbed by Knife Wielding Youth

Police seeking white male in late-teens who took an undetermined amount from convenience store on Trapelo Road.

Belmont and Watertown Police officers are searching backyards off Trapelo Road by foot and with a K9 unit for a young man who used a knife to rob an employee of the 93 FoodMart in Cushing Square of an undetermined amount of money. Around 4:50 p.m., the young man approached employee Suresh Pandey with a note in his hand. The robber – wearing a red cloth mask and a red scarf over his head – pointed a locking knife at Pandey and gave him the note that read, "Give me the money, Hurry up." "He looked like a kid but he was holding a knife so I opened the register and gave him the money. He saw there was $50 bill and he said 'Give me that 50,'" said Pandey. Belmont Police Searching for Suspect in Armed Robbery on Trapelo Road

Scanner reports say Belmont Police have called for a search dog after an armed robbery of the 93 Food Mart.

Belmont Police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery on Trapelo Road this afternoon.  According to scanner reports police chased the suspect to the area of Lewis Road, after the robbery of 93 Food Mart on Trapelo Road, near Common Street. Police have requested a search dog to help find the suspect, according to scanner reports.  Follow Belmont Patch for updates on this incident.

Gunmen Rob Trapelo Road Variety Store Sunday [VIDEO]

Suspects: In late teens, between 5'10" and 6', one brandishing a semi-automatic.

A gunman and his accomplice robbed a Central Square variety store at the corner of Trapelo Road and Walnut Street Sunday, Feb. 12, shortly before 9 p.m., according to Belmont Police. Two men entered LC's Variety at 326 Trapelo Rd. when one pointed a black, semi-automatic handgun at the clerk, ordering him to open the cash register. Once open, the employee turned over a undetermined amount of money to the pair, said BPD Lt. Richard Santangelo.  Both men were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and had scarves over their faces. Other than pushing the clerk behind the counter, the employee was unhurt. The two then fled on foot on Hull Street. Belmont Police, along with a Waltham Police K9 unit, searched the area but could not locate either one of…
