Alleged Council on Aging Fraudster Back in Court Dec. 10

Kathryn Christopher out on personal recognizance, new trial date in 2013.

The former Belmont Council on Aging home-care coordinator whose trial this month for allegedly stealing $900,000 from an elderly Oliver Road dementia victim ended in a hung jury will be back in Middlesex District Court on Dec. 10 for a status hearing on her next day in court. Kathryn Christopher, 65, of Everett was released on personal recognizance on Nov. 2 after a jury could not come a consensus verdict after a two week trial on charges of larceny of a person over 60 over $250 and three counts of obtaining a signature by false pretense. Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone office announced that it would retry the Everett resident on the same charges.  The next court date for Christopher is Dec. 10 when a date for the next trial will …

Hung Jury in COA Home Care Theft Trial

Middlesex DA will retry Kathryn Christopher for stealing $900,000 from Oliver Rd. resident.

The trial of the former Belmont Council on Aging home-care coordinator who was indicted for allegedly stealing $900,000 from an elderly Oliver Road dementia victim ended in a hung jury Nov. 2 in Middlesex County Superior Court. A jury could not come to a consensus verdict after a two week trial in Superior Court Judge Merita A. Hopkins' courtroom on the charges of larceny of a person over 60 over $250 and three counts of obtaining a signature by false pretense against Kathryn Christopher, 65, of Everett, according to a spokesperson for Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone. Former COA Worker Who Stole $900K from Elder on Trial Monday

Kathryn Christopher, 65, former Council on Aging home-care employee will be in Woburn Superior Court facing four counts for ripping off dementia victim.

Exactly one year after being arraigned for allegedly stealing $900,000 from an elderly dementia victim from Oliver Road, a former home care corrdinator for the Belmont Council on Aging will have her day in court Monday, Oct. 22, according to Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone.   Kathryn Christopher, 65, of Everett, will stand trial in Middlesex County Superior Court in Woburn on charges of larceny of a person over 60 over $250 and three counts of obtaining a signature by false pretense. According to Leone, in 2003, while working as the COA's home-care coordinator, Christopher got to know the victim after she was referred to the COA due to her medical state which left her confused and caused the victim to have a difficult time with her…

In the Eye of the Storm: Six Photographers in the Nazi Era. Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 1 p.m. This one hour presentation looks at the lives, works, and choices of six photographers who lived and photographed in Germany during the Nazi Era.  Utilizing the photographs of each artist, the presentation introduces the audience to the works of the following photographers: August Saunder, Leni Riefenstahl, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Erwin Blumenfeld, Erick Salomon, and Roman Vishniac.  Within the historical context of Nazi Germany in the 1930’s and 40’s, the presentation focuses on the artistic / moral choices of these photographers: what they chose to photograph – what they saw (in the Eye in the Storm) – as well as their artistic and ethical choices.  The …

If you received one, please examine it for accuracy and make any necessary changes. Pay special attention to the instruction sheet and list of necessary documents. Former COA Coordinator Arraigned for Stealing $900K from Elderly Dementia Victim

Kathryn Christopher of Everett arraigned for larceny of a person over 65 and other charges.

The former home care coordinator for Belmont's Council of Aging has been arraigned on charges alleging that she stole over $900,000 from an elderly Oliver Road woman with dementia, including obtaining a signature under false pretenses for the victim’s will and mortgage, according to Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone.   Kathryn Christopher, 64, of Everett, was arraigned today, Monday, Oct. 17 in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn on charges of larceny of a person over 60 over $250 and obtaining a signature by false pretense (three counts).  Christopher was released on personal recognizance after surrendering her passport and was ordered to check in weekly with probation, to submit a list of her current clients and who controls their …
